Cité jardin Bon Air
had lost the pedestrian character it originally enjoyed in favour of cars and rapid transit routes. To turn Bon Air back into a space its residents can enjoy, the project team developed a master plan, in which the first phase involved reorganising the road network, with one-way streets and a loop system, creating a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists. The team then focused on transforming key intersections into lively public spaces, restoring the neighbourhood's social dynamic, ensuring the concepts of inclusiveness and sustainability were integrated into the project. Five themed squares were created for this purpose, with the poetic names of Bosquet Ombragé, Colline Verte, Place de l'École, Place des Eaux Pluviales and Canopée Communautaire. The project has transformed a historic garden city into a model of contemporary suburban living. The guided tours will be led by Julien Deloffre and Pierre Escobar, co-founding architects of L’Atelier DEV.
