A specific view on the current architectural production?
Urban invites a curatorial team, Dérive-esque, to share with us their opinion on about twenty contemporary buildings in Brussels. Join the Urban guides during the entire weekend on 12 and 13 October 2024, who will take you on a tour of these buildings and explain their particularities in French, Dutch or English.
The 2024 theme: Material Assembly
Material Assembly is an invitation to explore Brussels’ architecture through its makers and its craftspeople. During guided visits of projects and ateliers we zoom in on the different hands coming together in shaping the city, highlighting its rich assemblage of materiality.
If the activity is full, we have set aside a few unreserved places for each venue, on a first-come, first-served basis, so you can always turn up on the day and try your luck!
The archiweek’s curatorial team is composed of the Brussels based and research driven practices esque and Dérive who make space for dialogue between a variety of actors involved in city making.
**Invited speakers will share their experience in a collective conversation with the attendees. The curator team of Dérive-esque will guide the exchange. We welcome you to join this Opening Assembly on Thursday evening 10 October 2024, from 18:30-20:00 at Circularium.**
Some of these firms will be opening their doors to the public on the evening of Friday 11 as well as during the day on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 Oktober, giving you a chance to learn more about their flagship projects and the profession in general.
For this edition, the curatorial team of archiweek has artisans, artists, and designers to open the doors of their workshops to showcase their work and involvement in working on the city. Discover their craft by visiting their workshops during the archiweek from 5-13th of October!
