The words from Urban's Head

archiweek 2021 aims to take you inside some iconic architectural projects across the Brussels-Capital Region for a look round.

Last year, archiweek's curators proposed going back to the fundamentals of architecture. For this third archiweek, Roxane Le Grelle, Dieter Leyssen, Alessandro Cugola and Chloé Nachtergael (51N4E) invite us to take a fresh look at our city, notwithstanding any specialist training we might have. This year's archiweek encourages us to adopt a certain simplicity in our approach and to take architectural reflection to another level, thus giving us the licence to freely and simply appropriate a location to our current needs.

As well as these visits, archiweek gives you the chance to visit architecture studios, which will be opening their doors to the public on the weekend of 16 17 October 2021.

Talks and discussions, exhibitions, bicycle and walking tours, games and workshops for families and schools will give you the chance to continue reflecting on Brussels' architectural output.

Last but not least, this year, three Sustainable Architecture Days will showcase six sustainable architectural projects, presented by their architects.

Urban would like to say a big thank you to the site managers, architects, project owners, associations, municipal authorities, guides and Urban partners without whom archiweek 2021 would not have been possible.

Enjoy this feast of architectural discovery,
Bety Waknine
