Guided tour / Comingtogether
ISELP
Team: Denicolai & Provoost, Nord (Pauline Fockedey & Valentin Bollaert), OSP (Ludi Loiseau & Sarah Magnan)
The entrance to ISELP (the Higher Institute for the Study of the Language of the Visual Arts), its cafeteria and visual identity are being revamped to mark its 50th anniversary. This will make the arts centre and archive in the noisy Boulevard de Waterloo/Waterloolaan more readable. On the one hand, the space will be reorganised, with the main entrance located in the ivy-clad alleyway that forms a green artery between the boulevard and Parc Egmont/Egmontpark. The team has designed a monumental piece of furniture for the entrance area, a kind of new double-height interior space that articulates the functions of this new area. On the other hand, ISELP's identity is deeply transformed, with a playful new logo and a series of episodes that emphasise the uniqueness of this site and process: making natural oil from the (heritage-protected) ivy plants in the street, massage sessions using this oil, student workshops in the archives, and so on.
During archiweek, ISELP will open its doors for the public to get involved in these activities, including the natural-oil massage sessions (Sunday) and an (institutional) speleological visit with a flashlight of the building (both in animated by Denicolai & Provoost, nord and OSP) (Friday and Saturday).
Come and see for yourself the major changes under way at ISELP!
