Laura Muyldermans, LDSRa

This temporary set-up of offices on a standard office building slab, posits a considerable degree of flexibility from the users. The project questions the strictness of classic offices by subverting typical partition walls and other standardized elements. Individual workspaces are surrounded by a large common workspace to be used and appropriated by citizens, entrepreneurs, governments, researchers and other users. The temporary project took an economically feasible approach: as little material as possible was wasted, and existing dividing walls were retained or relocated. The design process took only 2.5 months between the first meeting and the inauguration of the project, resulting in an intensive collaboration between the architect and client. Both stayed in the building throughout the entire process, leading to the design vision and program being a real collective effort and learning experience for all participants.

The visits on 10.10.2020 at 16:00 and on 11.10.2020 at 11:00 will be guided by the architect Laura Muyldermans.
